These terms govern your use of the Spentence mobile application and the services that support it. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Spentence.
Spentence lets you record income and expenditure, set budgets and savings goals, track recurring payments, and review summaries of your activity. Optional assisted-entry features interpret text, speech or photographed receipts to speed up data entry. An optional account backs up your records and synchronises them across your devices.
You may use Spentence without an account. If you create one, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it. You must provide accurate registration details and be old enough to form a binding contract in your country.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.
You own the records you create. We claim no ownership over them. Because Spentence stores data on your device by default, you are responsible for keeping your device secure and for maintaining a backup — creating an account is the simplest way to do that. We are not liable for records lost because a device was damaged, reset, or the app was uninstalled while signed out.
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Spentence is a record-keeping and budgeting aid. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing it displays should be treated as a recommendation. Summaries, projections and observations are generated from the information you enter and from published exchange rates; they may be incomplete or wrong, particularly if entries are missing or categorised differently from how you would expect.
Assisted entry interprets your input automatically and can misread an amount, a date or a category. Always check a suggested entry before confirming it. Currency conversion uses published reference rates and will not match the rate your bank or card issuer actually applied.
Decisions you make about your money remain yours. For advice about your circumstances, consult a qualified professional.
The core app is designed to work offline. Features that depend on our servers — backup, sync, subscription validation, reminders and server-side assisted entry — require a connection and may be unavailable during maintenance or outages. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change or discontinue features. Where a change is significant we will give reasonable notice in the app.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, Spentence is provided "as is", and to the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
We may update these terms as the product develops. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will notify you in the app of material changes. Continuing to use Spentence afterwards means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Spentence operator is established, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
Questions about these terms are welcome: use Settings → Contact us in the app, or email softsense.info@gmail.com.
